In addition, your spouse and minor children will receive free Season Passes. Don’t have a family of skiers? You will receive Guest Passes which enable you to get free Lift Tickets for friends!

Rental equipment

Our Rental Shop is where you'll find Alpine and Snowboard gear. Every employee has the opportunity to have free rentals. Employees who do not have their own equipment are eligible to use rental equipment for free.

Food discounts

Each Christie Mountain employee will receive a 30% discount on all snack bar food.

Job Descriptions

  • Snowmaker.

    *The minimum age is 18

    Requirements: Working 12 hour day or night shifts in extreme weather conditions. Must be able to frequently lift and pull a minimum of 75 pounds of heavy hoses or other equipment on hard-packed or soft snow and icy surfaces. Must be safety conscious and aware of changing conditions

    Position overview: Snowmakers need to be genuinely interested in working outside in challenging and changing weather conditions. You will be involved in the operation of snowmaking equipment whenever weather permits. When possible and needed, you might be working seven days per week, and other times, you may be working in another area or called off. Warm and waterproof clothing, boots and gloves are essential. This position generally lasts 4 to 8 weeks and when snowmaking is finished for the season you may have the option to move into a lift operator position.

    Wages: $15/hour starting

  • Lift Operator.

    *Minimum Age: 18

    Requirements: Working outside, frequently in extreme weather conditions. Physically holding chairs while guests load the chairlift. Physically swinging loaded chairs. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Snow shoveling is required. Maybe on your feet for the entire shift

    Position Overview: Lift operators are in constant contact with our guests and must be friendly and helpful when greeting and assisting them. You will be outside, sometimes for your entire shift, in all types of weather. You must be agile on soft and hard-packed snow surfaces and able to walk safely up and down the slopes. You may be shoveling snow from walkways, decks, stairs as well as lift load and unload areas. Some lift operators will be assigned to operate the T-Bar. Uniform and dress code required. A uniform jacket is provided.

    Wage: $14/hour starting

  • Ticket Seller.

    *Minimum Age: 16

    Requirements: Cashier and retail experience helpful. Accuracy and honesty are essential. Able to be on your feet for an entire shift

    Position Overview: Ticket sellers are among the first employees a guest talks to so this position requires friendly and helpful people with the ability to handle money in a fast-paced environment. A ticket seller’s primary responsibility will be to know and accurately sell tickets and rental packages.You must become familiar with all products for sale and will need to familiarize yourself with all aspects of Christie Mountain and be able to answer questions and provide information about all departments. Ticket sellers are also responsible for selling merchandise in our ski shop/gift shop and will assist guests in finding the merchandise they are looking for. Some janitorial duties that are included in this position include chalet and restroom clean up throughout the day. Uniform and dress code required.

    Wage: $12/hour starting for ages 16-17 $14/hour starting for age 18+

  • Lesson/Information Desk.

    *Minimum age: 16

    Requirements: Friendly outgoing personality essential. Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment.

    Position Overview: Staff at the Lesson/Information Desk are usually the first employee a guest meets and the last one they see upon departure. You must be friendly and willing to dispense information and answer questions. Eye contact is very important. You will need to be extremely courteous and able to answer questions about Christie Mountain and give directions to the guests. In addition an employee staffing the Lesson/Information Desk will be signing up guests for lessons and will need to be knowledgeable in the lesson types we offer as well as the basics of skiing and snowboarding in order to find the best fit for instruction for the guest. You will also be checking in our volunteer instructor staff and placing our guests with the most appropriate instructor. Some janitorial duties that are included in this position include chalet and restroom clean up throughout the day. Uniform and dress code required.

    Wage: $12/hour starting for ages 16-17, $14/hour starting for age 18+

  • Rental Technician.

    *Minimum Age: 16

    Requirements: Able to be on your feet for the entire shift. Able to handle a fast-paced job. Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds. Binding certification required (training provided).

    Position Overview: Rental attendants are responsible for the distribution and collection of ski/snowboard equipment from our guests. Technician’s main duties include adjusting bindings to customer-specific settings, assisting guests with boot fitting, and providing instruction on the equipment and its use. Rental shop employees must be outgoing and courteous while assisting our guests with renting and using ski or snowboard equipment. Some janitorial duties that are included in this position include chalet and restroom clean up throughout the day and daily cleaning of restrooms at the end of each day. Physically active, mature individuals are encouraged to apply. Uniform and dress code required.

    Wage: $12/hour starting for ages 16-17, $14/hour starting for age 18+

  • Bartender.

    *Minimum Age: 18

    Requirements: Experience preferred. Available to work over Christmas Holiday Period as well as weekends. Able to be on your feet for the entire shift. Ability to work at a fast pace and see things that need to be done when not busy. Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds. Must have a current Bartender/Server training certificate or the ability to obtain.

    Position Overview: Bartenders are responsible for the setup, cleanup, maintenance, and operation of the bar and dining area. You take food and drink orders from patrons and prepare and serve drinks in accordance with standard recipes. Bartenders mix cocktails and serve wine and bottled beer. You checkID’s of guests to determine age, ring drink orders into the cash register, collect payment, and make change. Bartenders are also asked to wash glassware, prepare garnishes for drinks, and stock all bar supplies. You will be cross trained in snackbar duties. Uniform and dress code required.

    Wage: $8.25/hour plus tips starting

  • Snackbar.

    *Minimum age: 16

    Requirements: Able to be on your feet for entire shift. Flexibility and willingness to perform various duties. Available to work over Christmas Holiday Period as well as weekends.

    Position Overview: Snackbar personnel need to be able to take food and beverage orders, use a cash register and accurately make change. You will be asked to greet customers and serve food as well as stock and maintain a clean work area. Cooks will be trained to prepare food on a grill and fryers as well as portioning and prepping food. Experience in a fast food operation is preferred but not mandatory. Some janitorial duties that are included in this position include chalet and restroom clean up throughout the day and daily cleaning of restrooms at the end of each day. Some supervisory positions are available for qualified applicants. Uniform and dress code required.

    Wage: $12/hour starting for ages 16-17, $14/hour starting for age 18+

  • Snowtubing Concessions

    *Minimum Age: 18

    Requirements: Able to be on your feet for the entire shift. Flexibility and willingness to perform various duties. Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.

    Position Overview: Snowtubing Concessions staff is responsible for preparing and serving food and drink as well as serving bottled beer. You need to be able to use a cash register, make change and check ID’s of guests to determine age. Light custodial duties are required of this position as well as some outdoor duties essential for making the tubing park a fun and safe place for our guests such as starting and maintaining a bonfire, taking tubes in and out of storage as needed and stocking the Tubing Chalet with food and beverage inventory from the main chalet. Uniform and dress code required

  • Kinderschool Instructor

    *Minimum age: 18 for Instructor or 10 for Helper

    Requirements: Must love children. Good skiing ability is required. Outside work frequently in extreme weather conditions. Ability to teach children basic skills necessary. Excellent customer service skills are necessary.

    Position Overview: Kinderschool Lead Instructors will be working with children ages 3 – 8 and must enjoy working and playing with kids and possess a lot of patience. This position requires a high energy level as well as an enthusiasm for skiing. You will be overseeing teen volunteers and will be asked to give them direction as you manage each two-hour Kinderschool session.

    Wage: $14/hour starting

    Kinderschool Helper: Our Kinderschool Program allows Junior Instructors (ages 10 - 15) to volunteer. They work under the supervision of adult instructors and teach younger children the basics of skiing through play.

  • Snowboard Instructor

    *Minimum Age: 16

    Requirements: Available to work one 4–5 hour shift per week plus one extra shift over the Holiday Period.

    Position Overview: Intermediate ski or snowboard skills necessary. Training and mentorship will be given until you are confident to independently instruct. Our instructors help ensure a safe and fun first experience on the snow for our new guests. Lessons are scheduled every 90 minutes and each lesson takes approximately an hour.

    Our instructors are volunteers who receive free skiing for themselves and their spouse and children under the age of 18 or a guest.

  • Ski Instructor

    *Minimum Age: 16

    Requirements: Available to work one 4–5 hour shift per week plus one extra shift over the Holiday Period.

    Position Overview: Intermediate ski skills necessary. Training and mentorship will be given until you are confident to independently instruct. Our instructors help ensure a safe and fun first experience on the snow for our new guests. Lessons are scheduled every 90 minutes and each lesson takes approximately an hour.

    Our instructors are volunteers who receive free skiing for themselves and their spouse and children under the age of 18 OR a guest.

  • Ski Patrol

    *Minimum Age 16

    Requirements: Must be able to pass Outdoor Emergency Care class as well as on the hill skills training. Available one shift per week with one extra shift over the Holiday Period.

    Position Overview: Our volunteer Ski Patrollers are members of the National Ski Patrol. We offer classes throughout the summer months for the Outdoor Emergency Care coursework and offer on the hill training through the winter months. Patrollers work with management to create the safest environment possible for our guests and handle the care of any guests who are in need of medical attention while at our facility.

    Our patrollers are volunteers who receive free skiing for themselves and their spouse and children under the age of 18 OR a guest.
